Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy focuses on promoting independence and improved quality of life. We will undertake an initial assessment, where our therapist will identify and address your specific challenges, hazards and health concerns within the home and social environment. As a result of our assessment we develop a comprehensive customised report that provides clinically based recommendations to help achieve your independent living goals, this assessment addresses factors such as fall prevention, cognitive decline, low mobility, post-surgical recovery and chronic illness, injury rehabilitation, and pain management.
Our key aim is to enable you to maintain autonomy in your Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), such as hygiene management, bathing, dressing, and cooking. We recommend the use of mobility aides, assistive devices, exercise programs and home modifications. As a part of the services, we provide ongoing training and support to ensure you regain your confidence in the home environment and social settings.
Occupational therapy fosters community reintegration after significant health events, supporting individuals by facilitating participation in social activities. By focusing on individual needs and fostering independence, occupational therapy empowers each individual to lead fulfilling lives and you can live your life independently.
